Ever since my late 20s, I have been a frequent visitor to Bethany Beach. The beach sits along the peninsula known as Fenwick Island, which lies alongside the Atlantic Coast of Delaware. It sits between Miller Creek and Indian Ray Creek in Sussex County.
Get ready for an exciting adventure in the Bethany Beach area and the nearby inland gems of Dagsboro, Millville, and Ocean View, where endless activities await! Venture beyond Bethany Beach to explore the breathtaking scenic views of Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, and the vibrant Maryland beach town of Ocean City.
My favorite month to visit the Delaware Beach area is late July, when the Delaware State Fair is held at the Harrington Fairgrounds. There, you’ll see lots of livestock, art, and crafts, as well as fair rides, carnival games, and various food options. On certain days, the fair has concerts for music enthusiasts.
Visiting the Delaware Beach area in late July is a favorite of mine, as it aligns with the Delaware State Fair at the Harrington Fairgrounds. At this time, you can experience a wide range of livestock, arts and crafts exhibits, fair rides, carnival games, and an array of food options. Moreover, on certain days, the fair features concerts for those who enjoy music.
A great time to visit is during the Enchanted Winter Celebration in Schellville, located behind Tanger Outlets Seaside in Rehoboth Beach. Here, you can enjoy the scenic views of the magical Christmas Village, go ice skating, or admire the scenery while riding the Schellville Express trains. The event typically starts in mid-November and continues until the end of December.
Delaware Seaside State Park is a must-visit destination featuring six miles of oceanfront and 20 miles of bay shoreline. It provides numerous water recreational activities, including surfing, fishing, swimming, and sunbathing. You can park your RV or rental vehicle to enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Rehoboth and Indian River Bays to the west. The campground offers a wide range of full hook-up sites for your convenience. Nearby State Parks include Cape Henlopen and Assateague.
Think about exploring this stunning coastal beach atmosphere in your recreational vehicle.
